Error Results

As well as the familiar route distance, time, and cost values; MPMileage can write an 'Error' data value. This value is a text field which indicates the status of the result. Valid values are as follows:

The route calculation succeeded.

No action required.

 

Start not found

 

The start location could not be found

Location might not exist in the map file.

Check that the spellings and formatting of the location are correct, and matches Maptitude's usage.

 

End not found

 

The end location could not be found

Location might not exist in the map file.

Check that the spellings and formatting of the location are correct, and matches Mapptitude's usage.

Ambiguous Start

Multiple possible start locations found

Maptitude returned multiple locations and you requested that they be skipped.

Ambiguous End

Multiple possible end locations found

Maptitude returned multiple locations and you requested that they be skipped.

Route not found

MapPoint was unable to calculate the route.

A valid route cannot be found. E.g. between islands or one location is too far from a  road.

Unknown Error

Should not occur

Report as a possible bug.

 

 

The Error column should be at least 16 characters wide. The above values will be truncated if necessary.

 

Further error values may be added at a future date.

 

The above error values can be used in repeated runs to indicate that only rows with errors should be calculated. This is described on the Row Selection page.
